Georgia Tech will host the Pitt Panthers under the lights at Bobby Dodd Stadium on Saturday in front of a confirmed sellout crowd of 51,913.

The top-25 ACC showdown will have a spot in the conference championship game within reach. The No. 16 Yellow Jackets, led by head coach Brent Key and quarterback Haynes King, enter the prime time clash with a 9-1 record, one of the best offenses in the country, and control of their postseason destiny.

Tech boasts the nation’s highest scoring average in league play and the ACC’s top-rated attack, with King accounting for more than 3,000 total yards with 14 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns on the season. “This program’s growth this year has been unbelievable,” said Key earlier in the week. “We know Pitt is physical. They’re coached well and will make us earn everything. But we’re built for these moments and we want to finish strong in front of our fans.”

However, as good as Tech has been on offense, recent struggles on the defensive side create potential challenges against a confident Pitt team.

“We know Pitt is a tough, physical team with a great defense,” Key said. “We’ve got to be sharper on defense, especially after giving up some big plays recently. That part of our game will decide a lot Saturday.”

King, who has been the engine behind Tech’s explosive offense, said, “Our offense is clicking, but we have to play complete football. Defense matters. We all have to be ready and locked in, especially with a championship on the line.”

The Jackets defense has given up over 34 points in each of the last two games. Last week, it was just enough as they won with 36 points. But, the prior game at NC State, the Wolfpack put up 48, twelve more than the Tech offense could muster in the season’s only loss.

Pitt enters ranked No. 22 in the CFP standings, at 7-3 overall and 5-1 in the ACC, looking to recover after a tough 35-15 loss at #9 Notre Dame and repeat its success at Bobby Dodd, where the Panthers have won three straight road games against Georgia Tech. “Their defense flies around, but we’ve got faith in our offense and Haynes’s leadership,” Key said. “It’s about staying aggressive, executing, and rising to the occasion.”

Kickoff is set for Saturday at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN, with Bobby Dodd Stadium expected to be packed and electric as both programs battle for primetime bragging rights, a championship berth, and national spotlight. “We’re not looking past anyone,” King added. “This opportunity means the world to our team. It’s about going out, trusting our process, and playing our best ball—one more time at home.”
