Tech Readies For Road Test at No. 19 Louisville
Georgia Tech (3-1) returns to ACC play with a pivotal league matchup at No. 19/20 Louisville. Tech is off to its best four-game start since 2017. The Yellow Jackets put a remarkable 5-0 record against nationally ranked ACC opponents under head coach Brent Key on the line when it visits Louisville. Four of the Jackets’ five wins against ranked ACC teams under Key have come away from home.
Show MoreBrent Key Weekly Press Conference Previewing Louisville
We look forward to being back here at home with out students and fans, the great environment that we have here playing a VMI team. When you watch these guys on tape, they pose a lot of problems. They play a three down front. They like to bring different backs and safeties and blitz and we've got to be able to handle those things. Coach Rocco is a longtime head coach, had success everywhere he's been.
Show MoreLouisville HC Jeff Brohn Press Conference Previewing Georgia Tech
We're excited to get back to playing football, especially at home versus a really good opponent. (Georgia Tech) has done a great job so far this year so we know we have our hands full. We're going against a team that's very efficient on offense, in the passing and running game. They're physical at the point of attack, control the football, and play solid defense throughout so we have to play well.
Show MoreGeorgia Tech Stomps VMI In Bobby Dodd Shellacking
A steady mist surrounded campus and an ominous looking sky managed to hold off a predicted storm. But, all of the pouring on was provided by the Jackets. VMI came in with a pair of losses at William & Mary (41-7) and to Bucknell 35-28. Tech was coming off a frustrating loss at Syracuse. But, in their favor was the interesting stat that the Yellow Jackets were 10-1 after a Tech loss under Brent Key.
Show MoreGeorgia Tech Returns To Bobby Dodd Stadium To Host VMI
A big week is coming up for the Yellow Jackets as they prepare for VMI. Georgia Tech falls back to being an unranked team after its 31-28 loss to Syracuse. The Jackets are still a good team and have their full season ahead. The key aspect to look for is how Tech responds after the loss and if they can get some areas cleaned up like their pass defense and their surprising struggles in the run game against Syracuse.
Show MoreGeorgia Tech's Late Rally Comes Up Short as No. 23 Yellow Jackets Lose On The Road to Syracuse
The favored Jackets were going against a team that lost its best linebacker to injury and gave up 6.5 yards per carry to Ohio last week. On paper, it looked like Tech had advantages up front coming into the game. That did not match up with reality though. Syracuse was the more physical team by a lot today and GT leaves with their first loss of the season and a lot of things to figure out.
Show MoreFanbase Thrilled After Cracking CFB AP Top 25 For First Time in Nine Years
The AP poll following week one of the season knocked the Seminoles out of the top 25 after their 28-13 loss against another ACC opponent in Boston College. While that might be unfamiliar territory for those in Tallahassee, Georgia Tech’s spot inside the top 25 seems just as strange. The Yellow Jackets rank No. 23 in the country...the first time they’ve found a spot in the college football AP Poll since September 20, 2015.
Show MoreGeorgia Tech Impresses With 35-12 Win Over Georgia State
Given the short distance from the Georgia State campus, I was surprised there was not a lot more blue in the crowd. Tech fans filled most of what they didn’t, though. All 6,000+ tickets allocated to students were sold out. Big plays, a balanced offensive attack and defensive stands highlighted the first ever meeting between the two football teams. The key to it all is being able to get guys touches,” Tech coach Brent Key said.

For Home Opener
The Jackets are favored in this one by a whopping 38 points to beat the Panthers in a blowout. That seems hard to believe. The teams have never played each other on the football field, even though their campuses are just two miles apart. A few players were commenting before the game that it has been difficult to prepare for a team that you really have no realistic film on.

Against Atlanta Foe
Coming off its first season-opening victory in four years and looking to move to 2-0 for the first time in eight seasons, Georgia Tech opens its home schedule versus Georgia State. Although their campuses are separated by less than two miles, Tech and GSU are meeting for the first time on the gridiron. The Yellow Jackets have not lost to an in-state opponent besides UGA since a 7-6 loss to Oglethorpe on Sept. 25, 1926.
Show MoreACC power rankings after Week 0: Georgia Tech soars while FSU, SMU tumble
Week 0 of ACC action is in the books. Three teams from the ACC were in action last weekend, including two who faced off in Florida State and Georgia Tech. The result of that game is reflected in these rankings, as is SMU’s 29-24 win over Nevada. Here are Saturday Down South’s ACC power rankings ahead of Week 1 of the 2024 season: GT moves up to No. 3 after an extremely impressive performance vs. the Noles.
Show MoreYellow Jackets Rake in Honors Following Win Over No. 10 FSU
Georgia Tech received several individual honors in recognition of its 24-21 win over No. 10 FSU. Aidan Birr made a 44-yard field goal as time expired and Georgia Tech upset No. 10 Florida State 24-21 on Saturday in the first major college football game of the season. Coming off an undefeated regular season, but with a remade roster, the Seminoles tied the game at 21 with 6:33 left in the fourth quarter on a 15-play touchdown drive that included two fourth-down conversions by DJ Uiagalelei.
Show MoreGT vs FSU: Seminoles Remain a Double-Digit Favorite Heading Into Game Week
The opening week of college football is nearly here. This is the last Saturday without college football until January and the game that is going to get things started is Georgia Tech vs Florida State in Dublin, Ireland. 2024 Season Preview
After going 4-4 as Georgia Tech’s interim coach in 2022, Brent Key earned the permanent job. He had an even better year this past season, leading the Yellow Jackets to their first bowl game in five years. Leading the charge was the duo of running back Jamal Haynes and quarterback Haynes King on the ground, as each earned 80.0-plus PFF rushing grades. Tech also has a rising star at wide receiver in sophomore Eric Singleton Jr.

The Georgia Tech football program received a big commitment Monday, its biggest commitment in some time. Josh Petty, a 6-foot-4, 255-pound offensive lineman, held a commitment ceremony Monday in the gymnasium at Fellowship Christian School in Roswell where he announced he plans to play for the Yellow Jackets starting in 2025. Petty chose Tech over Florida State, Ohio State, Stanford and Tennessee.

Show MoreNational Analyst Labels Georgia Tech a "Chaos Team" for the 2024 Season
For a team that returns as much talent as Georgia Tech does, they do have a low projected win total this season from various sportsbooks across the landscape and a lot of that has to do with their schedule. Yellow Jackets fans know how tough the schedule is each season, but this one might be the toughest they have faced in years. They open the season with defending ACC champion Florida State.
