Eight Run Sixth Proves Too Much For Pitt
Tech baseball was unable to defeat Pitt for the fourth-straight time this season, falling 12-6 on Tuesday at Truist Field in the opening game of the ACC Tournament. The Jackets (33-22) held a 6-2 advantage through five inning thanks to RBI hits from Andrew Jenkins and Tres Gonzalez and a home run from Tim Borden II. Georgia Tech next plays Louisville on Thursday, May 26.

Jenkins Named ACC National Player of the Week
Georgia Tech first baseman Andrew Jenkins has been named the final Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Players of the Week of the 2022 season. Jenkins keyed Georgia Tech to a five-win week, hitting .435 (10-for-23) with two doubles, four home runs and nine RBI. The Atlanta native posted 23 at-bats without striking out and recorded a .440 on-base percentage with two stolen bases.

Errors Doom Jackets’ Furious Comeback Effort
Georgia Tech baseball scored eight unanswered runs to mount a tremendous comeback effort, having the tying run at the plate in the ninth, but couldn’t complete the attempt, falling 12-9 to Clemson on Saturday afternoon at Kingsmore Stadium. The Yellow Jackets (27-20, 12-14 ACC) couldn’t overcome three defensive errors that ultimately led to seven unearned runs.

Tech Comeback Falls Short on Saturday
Despite scoring four runs in the seventh to get on the board, Georgia Tech baseball’s offense couldn’t muster enough to support RHP John Medich’s career start, falling 8-4 on Saturday afternoon at Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium. At the plate, Tech was held to just seven hits and were held to an uncharacteristic 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position.

Jackets Belt Two Grand Slams to Clinch UNC Series
Georgia Tech's offense was ablaze on Sunday afternoon as it mashed five home runs to defeat North Carolina 11-8 at Boshamer Stadium for its second-straight ACC series. The Yellow Jackets (23-14, 9-9 ACC) hit two grand slams on the day, one in the second inning by the nation’s home run leader Kevin Parada and another key one in the ninth by Tim Borden II – his second homer of the day.
