Women’s Hoops Slated for SEC/ACC Challenge Road Game at Alabama
Georgia Tech women’s basketball is set for a road clash against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Thursday, Dec. 3 for the SEC/ACC Challenge, the leagues and ESPN revealed Friday. 2026 marks the fourth year of the SEC/ACC Challenge, where the Jackets look to even a 1-2 record in the event. Tech lost a hard-fought game on the road at Texas A&M in last year’s edition, 72-63. It also marks the eighth meeting between the two.

Antonia Bates Signs with Women’s Basketball
Georgia Tech women’s basketball and head coach Karen Blair announced the signing of Antonia Bates, a 6-3 guard/forward grad transfer from Rutgers. The Scarlett Knights’ leading rebounder last season, Bates made 44 starts in four seasons including starting each of the final 12 games of the 2025-26 campaign. She led Rutgers in rebounding 11 times, the only player on the team to crack triple digits in defensive rebounds (102).

Women’s Basketball Signs
Penda Dieng
Penda Dieng, a 6-3 forward transfer from Xavier has signed with Georgia Tech women’s basketball. Prior to her time in the Buckeye State, Dieng averaged 10 points and six rebounds per game while at S3 Academy (Petersburg, Va.). She helped her team to a 26-5 record in 2023-24 and a 22-15 mark in 2022-23. While part of the AAU team Cap City Ballerz, she helped guide the squad to the EYCL Championship in July 2024.

Wildcats Outlast Jackets in 2026 WBIT First Round
A double-double and 29 points from All-ACC First Team selection Talayah Walker was not enough to get Georgia Tech women's basketball past Kansas State in the first round of the WBIT Thursday, 69-65. The Yellow Jackets (14-19, 8-10 ACC) battled back-and-forth with the Wildcats (19-17, 8-10 Big 12) in the first half and outscored the Big 12 semifinalist 25-22 in the third to even the score at 52 going into the fourth.

Resilient Jackets Fall to Virginia Tech in ACC Tournament
A gritty and resilient effort from Georgia Tech women’s basketball fell just short of 6-seed Virginia Tech in the second round of the 2026 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament Thursday, 62-54, inside Gas South Arena. After the Yellow Jackets (14-18, 8-10 ACC) stormed out to a 17-7 lead after one, the Hokies (23-8, 12-6 ACC) managed to get back in the game and used a strong second period to advance to the quarterfinals.

Women’s Basketball Falls to No. 10/11 Louisville Thursday Night
Georgia Tech women’s basketball came up short in Thursday’s showdown with No. 10/11 Louisville inside McCamish Pavilion, 69-50. Talayah Walker led the team with 20 points and six boards on top of two steals while Brianna Turnage added her 19th game of the season with double-digit rebounds (10) and finished two points shy of a double-double (8). Walker scored 11 in the first half including seven of Tech’s first 10.
