Men’s Basketball Adds Ilja Kurucs
A 6-10 forward from Cēsis, Latvia, Ilja Kurucs has signed a grant-in-aid to join Georgia Tech men’s basketball, head coach Scott Cross announced. A talented international prospect, Kurucs brings a wealth of international playing experience from the Estonian-Latvian League, Latvian National Team and European Youth Basketball League (EYBL) circuit. This past season, Kurucs competed in the Estonian-Latvian league, playing for both Kalev and Liepajas.

Tech to Travel to Mississippi State for SEC/ACC Challenge
Georgia Tech men’s basketball will meet a familiar opponent in the SEC/ACC Challenge this season as the Yellow Jackets are slated to travel to Mississippi State. The 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge will take place over back-to-back days Dec. 1 and Dec. 2. The Challenge events will feature games across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ACC Network and SEC Network. Tip time and network will be announced in the fall.

Jackets to Face Murray State in Nashville
Georgia Tech men’s basketball is headed to Music City for a neutral site contest against Murray State on Sunday, Dec. 6. The Yellow Jackets and Racers are part of a doubleheader in Nashville that also features a game between Tennessee and fellow ACC foe, NC State. The contests, which were announced on Friday by Complete Sports Management, will be played at Bridgestone Arena.

ACC Opponents Announced
Georgia Tech will host a competitive nine-game Atlantic Coast Conference schedule that features six NCAA Tournament teams to usher in the new era of Yellow Jackets basketball under head coach Scott Cross in 2026-27. The ACC returned to an 18-game conference slate in 2025-26 with each school having one permanent partner and one rotating home-and-away opponent in the rotation.

Men’s Basketball Inks Courtland Muldrew
A 6-3 guard from Arlington, Texas, Courtland Muldrew has signed a grant-in-aid to join Georgia Tech. Muldrew arrives on The Flats after playing his freshman season at the University of Washington last year. With the Huskies, Muldrew took the floor primarily off the bench in 20 games and made his first collegiate start against Wisconsin, adding seven points on 3-of-5 shooting to go along with two rebounds.

Cross Named Georgia Tech Men’s Basketball Head Coach
Scott Cross, who has won seven conference championships and 350 games in 19 seasons as a head coach – including five-straight 20-win seasons and back-to-back Sun Belt Conference regular-season and tournament titles at Troy – has been named the 16th head coach in Georgia Tech men’s basketball history, Georgia Tech vice president and director of athletics Ryan Alpert announced on Friday.
