No. 29 Men's Tennis Blanks Louisville, 4-0
No. 29 Georgia Tech pocketed a 4-0 victory in the second round of the 2024 ACC Championship over Louisville on Thursday afternoon to open tournament play. The Yellow Jackets took the doubles point and three straight-set singles matches for the victory. The championship is being played at the Cary Tennis Park.

Men’s tennis (11-5, 2-3 ACC) started its week with an impressive 4-2 win over conference opponent, Clemson (7-0, 0-5 ACC). Tech dominated in doubles, going 2-1 and earning the first point of the match. No. 18 Martin defeated Clemson’s Ryuhei Azuma to put the Jackets up 2-1. McDaniel earned himself a victory in three sets Clemson’s Vukadin 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.

Georgia Tech men’s tennis (9-3, 0-1 ACC) started the weekend with a close matchup against No. 48 UNC. UNC escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Jackets. Tech was unlucky in doubles play, losing two straight matches and granting the Tar Heels with the doubles point. The highlight of singles play was an impressive upset from Rohan Sachdev.

The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team (9-2, 0-0 ACC) finished its Saturday doubleheader with a 4-3 win against UNCW (3-4, 0-0 CAA) and a 7-0 win against Mercer (1-9, 0-0 SoCon). To start off the match with UNCW, the Jackets dropped the doubles point, picking up their only win at No. 2 from Krish Arora and Andres Martin, 6-2.

In addition to the Top 25 teams, this week’s poll included the Top 125 singles players and Top 60 doubles pairs. In singles, Andres Martin jumped to No. 14, Keshav Chopra moves up to No. 82.

The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team concluded the day with a 5-2 loss at Georgia. Andres Martin and Gabriele Brancatelli made quick work of their match, defeating Georgia’s Paulsell and Colby 6-2. Marcus McDaniel and Keshav Chopra found themselves clinching the doubles point over Georgia’s Ratiu and Blaydes 6-3.
