Tech Outlasted by No. 5 Clemson, 8-4
Despite hanging more runs on No. 5 Clemson (31-1, 8-0 ACC) than any of the Tigers’ previous opponents, Georgia Tech (16-14, 2-6 ACC) softball fell 8-4 Saturday at Mewborn Field. Trailing early, the Yellow Jackets bounced back with a three-run fifth inning to even the tally, but were unable to keep pace in the final two frames.

Jackets Trounce Trojans, 6-0
Softball (16-12, 2-4 ACC) took care of Troy (21-8-1, 2-0-1 SBC) cruising to a 6-0 victory Wednesday at the Troy Softball Complex. Jr. 1B Abby Hughes and senior right hander Chandler Dennis powered the Yellow Jackets past the Trojans as Hughes was responsible for every run scored in the contest while Dennis earned her second complete game shutout of the season.

Georgia Tech Topped by No. 13 Virginia Tech
Georgia Tech (15-12, 2-4 ACC) dropped to No. 13 Virginia Tech (22-5, 8-1 ACC) by a final of 5-1 on Sunday at Mewborn Field. Sophomore right fielder Madison Dobbins highlighted the day with her first career dinger, while senior hurler Blake Neleman became the second Yellow Jacket ever to surpass 500 career strikeouts.

Yellow Jackets Drop Doubleheader to Hokies
Georgia Tech softball (15-11, 2-3 ACC) fell in a doubleheader to No. 13 Virginia Tech (21-5, 7-1 ACC) on Saturday at Mewborn Field, dropping a conference series for the first time this season. Holding within three runs heading to the sixth in both contests, the Yellow Jackets were topped 7-4 in game one and 8-2 in game two.

Tech Takes First ACC Series over Virginia
Softball (14-9, 2-1 ACC) clinched its first ACC series of the season over Virginia (18-7, 1-2 ACC), splitting a Saturday DH at Palmer Park. The Jackets won their sixth straight, 5-2, to clinch the series over the Cavaliers before falling in the final contest, 3-0. Tech returns home against Georgia Southern (10-11) on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
