Jackets Travel To Virginia Tech For Weekend Series
Georgia Tech softball (29-17, 11-7 ACC) embarks on its final road trip of the regular season this weekend, taking on No. 15/16 Virginia Tech (32-9-1, 14-4 ACC) in Blacksburg, Va.
The Yellow Jackets have won five of their last six games going into this weekend as they strive for the best possible seed.
First pitch Friday is 6:00 p.m. All three games can be seen on ACCNX.
Late Inning Offense Lifts Jackets over Panthers
Georgia Tech softball (29-17, 11-7 ACC) scored five runs in the final two innings, erasing a 4-0 deficit to defeat Georgia State (10-32), 5-4, on Tuesday evening at the Bob Heck Complex in Panthersville, Ga. A three-hit performance from Ella Edgmon along with 3.1 scoreless innings from Kinsey Norton fueled the Yellow Jackets comeback as Tech sweeps the season series against the Panthers.

No. 25 Georgia Tech softball (19-10, 7-2 ACC) came up one run short against Notre Dame (16-10, 2-4 ACC), falling 6-5 on Sunday afternoon at Mewborn Field. Mallorie Black hit two home runs, driving in all five runs, as the Yellow Jackets lost their first ACC series of the season. Tech had the bases loaded with two outs in the bottom of the seventh but couldn’t get the tying run across, falling to 7-2 in conference play.

No. 25 Georgia Tech softball (18-8, 6-0 ACC) suffered a loss on Wednesday evening, falling to No. 5 Georgia (21-3, 0-0 SEC) by a score of 6-3 at Jack Turner Stadium. The Yellow Jackets scored three runs in the top of the 7th but ran out of time, snapping Tech’s winning streak at 15 games. The Jackets’ winning streak was stopped at 15 games, officially the 2nd longest winning streak in program history.

Georgia Tech softball (18-7, 6-0 ACC) made quick work of NC State (14-8, 1-5 ACC) on Sunday afternoon at Dail Softball Stadium in Raleigh, N.C. The Yellow Jackets put up five runs in the fourth inning to earn a run-rule victory over the Wolfpack, 10-2 (5). Georgia Tech won the first two games of the series 4-1 and 8-1 outscoring the Wolfpack by a combined 22-3 in the three game series.
