Both Doubles Duos Drop Qualifying Matches at ITA All-Americans
Men’s tennis opened the qualifying round of ITA All-Americans with two doubles matches, but dropped both of them. The duo of Nate Bonetto and Gabrielle Brancatelli took on Rudy Quan and Aadarsh Tripathi from UCLA, and claimed the first set 6-3. The UCLA duo took the second set 6-4, and won the eventual tiebreaker 10-2.

Georgia Tech men’s tennis closed out play at the Southern Intercollegiates Sunday afternoon, finishing the weekend with 19 total wins. Newcomer Christophe Clement went 4-0 on the weekend, winning the silver flight in singles. The day opened with doubles action, with Nate Bonetto and Gianluca Carlini getting a win.

Georgia Tech announced its fall schedule, which includes three ITA events and the GT Fall Invite on The Flats. The Yellow Jackets, in their 27th year under Byers Men’s Tennis Head Coach Kenny Thorne, begin competition in Athens, Ga., Sept 13-15 for the Southern Intercollegiate Championships, hosted by UGA.

Men’s tennis closed play at ITA Sectionals Friday, while three additional Jackets opened action at the Battle of the Beach in Destin. At ITA Sectionals, in the round of 16, Nate Bonetto took on No. 43 Martin Katz of Miami, but fell 2-6 2-6 to the No. 1 seed in the tournament. Gabrielle Brancatelli faced UGA's Oscar Pinto Sansano.
